We extend a transitive model V of ZFC + GCH cardinal preservingly to a model N of ZF + "GCH holds below Alefₒmega" + "there is a surjection from the power set of Alefₒmega onto lambda" where lambda is an arbitrarily high fixed cardinal in V.
