The condensate <tr(Aμ²)> in commutative and noncommutative theories

It is shown that gauge invariance of the operator ∫ dx tr(Aμ²-2/g ξ xν θμν Aμ) in noncommutative gauge theory does not lead to gauge independence of its vacuum condensate. Generalized Ward identities are obtained for Green's functions involving operator Ω→ ∞lim1Ω ∫Ω dx tr(Aμ²) in noncommutative and commutative gauge theories.
