We discuss the interchangeability of the thermodynamic limit β→ ∞ and the infinite limit of the Trotter number n → ∞ when Trotter formula eʰ₀⁺ᵛ =ₙ → ∞ (eʰ₀/ⁿ eᵛ/ⁿ) is used to calculate partition functions with Hamiltonians of the form H=H₀+V.
